Common signs of a worn pump include humming without water flow, running on and off, dry patches on the pads or a water-related fault on the controller. Check the pump inlet for debris and confirm the tank is filling before replacing it. Filling problems are usually caused by the solenoid valve or float valve, and a leaking drain valve can empty the tank.
