Genuine Breezair and Braemar drain valves, including the 24VAC drain valve (105345) and the 12VDC drain valve (116389). The drain valve empties the cooler tank to flush out dissolved salts, protecting the pads and pump and reducing odours.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a 24VAC or 12VDC drain valve?
The drain valve must match the voltage your cooler’s control system supplies. Check the rating printed on the old valve or the model number on your cooler before ordering.
Can a faulty drain valve stop my cooler filling?
Yes. A drain valve stuck open lets water run out of the tank, so the cooler may not fill properly. Check the water supply, solenoid valve and float valve too.
Why does my evaporative cooler smell?
A smell usually comes from stagnant water or sludge in the tank. Clean and flush the tank, check the drain valve is working, and make sure the pads can dry out between uses. See the evaporative cooler pads guide.
Cooler leaking or overflowing? Our evaporative cooler leaking water guide helps you find the cause from the symptom.
Breezair, Braemar & Coolair Cooler Drain Valves
About Breezair, Braemar & Coolair evaporative cooler drain valves
A faulty drain valve may leave the tank constantly draining, so the cooler never fills, or stop it draining at all. Check the voltage and part number on your existing valve: the 24VAC valve suits CPMD-controlled coolers, while the 12VDC valve suits models with 12V water management. See each product page for fitment.
Drain valve problems often show up alongside solenoid valve or pump issues. Contact us with your model number to confirm the right valve.
