About this part

Filter pads are where the cooling happens: water soaks through the pads and warm air drawn through them is cooled by evaporation. Over time pads clog with scale and dust, which cuts airflow, reduces cooling and can cause odours. Most coolers need new pads every few seasons, depending on water quality and use.
